Marseille manager reveals Michy Batshuayi transfer situation amid Spurs and Hammers interest

Pete Evans

Marseille interim boss Franck Passi says star striker Michy Batshuayi will leave the Ligue 1 club this summer, news which will be a huge boost to Tottenham and West Ham.

The 22-year-old, who will go to Euro 2016 with Belgium having scored 22 goals in all competitions for the French side so far this season, is said to be Slaven Bilic's main summer target and Tottenham are also said to be keen.

He recently spoke of his desire to remain in the south of France this summer and declared his love for the club but Passi, who is in temporary charge following the departure of Michel, says it is no secret that the Belgian forward is leaving.

"Everybody knows that he will leave," he told his press conference as reported by Get French Football News. "It is included in the accounts that Michy will be sold this summer. We will accept it. We know why players leave Marseille, the financials are not so enticing, we have to accept it."

Batshuayi has scored the only goal in his last two matches to help Marseille to back-to-back 1-0 wins.

I'm amused by the idea that he went to Chelsea to play for Conte. Even beyond the fact that they seem to pay bigger wages than anyone bar City, 9 out of 10 players is going to choose Chelsea over us at present.

I'm even more amused by the idea that McKay doesn't rate him. Couldn't get him to hand over an additional % more like.

Anyway, fuck him. Other fish in the sea.

Bid accepted but he wanted to go and play for Conte according to the official site

There have been a number of reports in the media surrounding the future of Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi.

It is my understanding that the Belgium striker has been a major target throughout the summer and the Club made a substantial offer that was accepted by the French side.

But the player chose to join another team as it was his dream to play for the manager of that club.

Lacazette will allegedly be staying at Lyon, unless he's sold today. His chairman gave today as the deadline.

I'd prefer Laczaette, which though unlikely, is still not officially dead, so I'm still hoping.

I hope they do become West Ham fans...I reckon the Olympic Stadium will sound like Wembley during an U-21 International for a few seasons though. Still, it's all about the Matchday experience these days, is it not? So when we lose a match everyone can use the helter-skelter next door to get over it, or maybe meet their wives for a cappucino at the Football Bar in Stratford.

We will end up with Benteke. A player who I would rather have anyway.

Mark McKay spoke about him as a target earlier in the season, but hasn't been a fan for sometime. Thinks he's massively overrated.

Either that or he didn't manage to get him on his books.

When they announce the scores at HT/FT will we have to clap them all now so as not to offend our multi-club support?
